Hello, I’m Geraldine Martinez, artist, designer and founder of Gibraltar Artists Studio.

Creativity has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. My professional background is in graphic design, but alongside my design career I have always continued to paint, draw and explore my own artistic practice.

In 2021, I began teaching children’s art classes in Gibraltar and quickly discovered how rewarding it was to help young people develop their creativity, confidence and self-expression through art. I later expanded into teaching adult art classes at various venues across Gibraltar, and in April 2025 I opened Gibraltar Artists Studio — a welcoming creative space where people of all ages and abilities can enjoy the benefits of art and creativity.

What started as a small art class has grown into a thriving creative community in the heart of Gibraltar.

One of the most rewarding aspects of teaching is seeing people surprise themselves. Many of my students arrive convinced they are “not artistic” or haven’t picked up a paintbrush since school. Watching their confidence grow and seeing the pride they feel when they complete a piece of artwork is something I never tire of.

I believe art should be accessible to everyone. Whether you’re joining a children’s art class, attending an adult painting workshop, or simply exploring your creativity for the first time, there is no pressure to be perfect. The joy is in the process of learning, creating and expressing yourself.

Alongside my role as an artist and art tutor in Gibraltar, I am passionate about wellbeing and the positive impact creativity can have on our lives. Art offers an opportunity to slow down, connect with others, build confidence and take time for ourselves in an increasingly busy world.

Today, Gibraltar Artists Studio offers art classes, workshops and creative experiences for children and adults throughout Gibraltar. My aim is simple: to provide a supportive and inspiring environment where people can create, connect and belong.
